There is a huge variety of things to see and do near Tree Nursery House, in the Angus local authority area, as well as the city of Dundee which is just 8 miles away, and Fife which is easily reached via the road bridge from Dundee.

There are lots of clean and generally quiet beaches, easily reachable by a short drive. These include beaches at Carnoustie, Buddon Ness, Broughty Ferry, East Haven and Lunan Bay. There are loads more beaches in Fife!
Monikie Park and Crombie Country Park are just a few minutes away. There are more parks in Dundee as well as various Angus towns and villages such as Carnoustie, Arbroath, Montrose, Forfar, Kirriemuir and Brechin.
Sport and Leisure
Tree Nursery House is located in golf country! There are approximately 30 courses within a 40 minute drive so you will be spoiled for choice. And there are many more courses in Fife (St Andrews is a 45 minute drive) and Dundee. So if you love golf this is the place to be.
There are numerous walking / hiking opportunities locally and in the Angus Glens…which stretch into the Cairngorms National Park. In addition there are established road and mountain bike routes nearby including the Sustrans National Cycle Route No. 1 which is only a few miles away.
Other sport and leisure activities include watersports and fishing. Not forgetting the Caledonian Railway heritage railway.
Castles and Country Houses
These include Glamis Castle, Brechin Castle, Edzell Castle, Broughty Ferry Castle, House of Dun, Hospitalfield, and Arbroath Abbey to name a few.
Museums & Galleries
The main attraction is the V&A Dundee, however Dundee also has Verdant Works, Discovery Point, The McManus Art Gallery and Museum. The Arbroath Abbey with its new visitor’s centre is a must see.
Eat and Drink
Arbroath smokies, local cafes, farm shops, fruit farms, whisky / gin / vodka distilleries, Dundee restaurants – there’s lots to choose from.
